Junior Account Manager

New Today

Overview

Founder of Kindling, a bespoke Lead Gen Agency for creative, comms and digital agencies.

About Kindling: At Kindling, we’re about building lasting relationships between creative agencies and the brands they want to work with. We create highly bespoke campaigns tailored to each client’s needs, building meaningful connections that get results.

As we continue to grow, we’re on the lookout for an Account Manager to join our dynamic team. This isn’t a role for someone just looking for a job; it’s for someone who wants to shape the development of one of Manchester’s most exciting startups. We’re seeking someone ready to take ownership, drive success, and help shape the future of Kindling with us.

The Role

As a Junior Account Manager, you’ll work with 3–4 creative agencies at a time, each with their own strengths, goals, and target brands. You’ll help these agencies land high-value partnerships by identifying prospects, researching key decision-makers, and crafting highly tailored outreach strategies that drive impact.

You’ll collaborate with our clients to refine their messaging, position themselves in the market, and ensure their outreach strategy is compelling. Success is measured by the quality of relationships and conversations you help create, not just by meetings booked. Your role contributes directly to Kindling’s growth and you’ll ensure our clients see the results they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tailored target brand shortlists for each client, identifying ideal prospects and developing strategies to approach them effectively.
  • Research key decision-makers at target brands, building detailed profiles on how to engage and what will resonate.
  • Plan and execute personalised outreach to secure high-value introductions for clients, ensuring interactions are highly relevant and meaningful.
  • Track outreach success through metrics like meetings secured, and refine tactics based on engagement data and client feedback.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on marketing collateral, website positioning, and messaging to maximise outreach impact.
  • Collaborate with Senior Account Managers and Account Leads to continuously improve outreach strategies.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, delivering regular performance updates and insights.

What We’re Looking For

  • A confident communicator: comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders at brands and agencies, with clear and confident idea presentation.
  • Creative and analytical: able to craft compelling messages while using data to guide decisions and measure success.
  • Proactive and strategic: always thinking ahead, refining tactics, and seeking continual improvement.
  • A team player: thrives in a collaborative environment and supports collective success.
  • Culturally aligned: fits into a close-knit, energetic, and collaborative team with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Career Progression

We’re committed to helping you grow and recognise hard work, with clear paths for progression.

  • Three-month probation review with a pay increase to £26,000
  • Nine to twelve months: Promote to Senior Account Manager (£28,000)
  • Twelve to fifteen months: Promote to Account Lead (£30,000–£35,000)

Why Join Us?

  • Join a fast-growing startup and shape the business alongside a supportive team.
  • Culture is key: collaboration, openness, and positivity with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Fast-track your career with structured advancement opportunities.
  • Work with high-profile clients and help them forge lasting partnerships with top brands.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work setup with flexible remote and in-office days.

Final Thoughts

We’re looking for someone who will embrace our culture, bring fresh ideas, and be invested in our growth. If you’re ready to take on a challenge, make an impact, and help shape the future of business development, we want to hear from you.
