Junior Brand & Content Associate

Location: London, Hybrid (Shoreditch office at least 3 days a week)
Employment type: Full-time
Experience level: 1 to 3 years

About us

The global energy transition is the biggest challenge and opportunity of the 21st century. Corporations, commercial entities, and suppliers (large and small) are realising the need to work towards a greener future - often by investing in renewable energy generation, adapting their electricity usage and commercial models.

At Gridcog, we’re on a mission to accelerate investment in the clean energy transition. We are a SaaS start‑up of energy nerds on a mission to accelerate the energy transition by building the best project modelling software to enable our users to make intelligent energy decisions.

We started out in Australia in the summer of 2020, launched in the UK in 2023, and now we’re super excited to grow our team as we build on that momentum and success throughout the UK and Europe in 2026.

About the role

We are looking for a creative, driven and detail‑focused Junior Brand and Content Associate to help bring our brand to life across video, social content, written materials and events. This role is ideal for someone with strong raw talent, great instincts and a passion for storytelling. You will be our second Marketing team member, and will work closely with our global team and have the chance to make a meaningful impact from day one.

If you love creating things, learning quickly and contributing to a growing start‑up, we would love to hear from you.

What you will do

  • Produce, edit and publish engaging content across our channels, with a key focus on video content (check out our Thinking Energy video series), in addition to social posts, blogs, case studies and event materials.
  • Assist with event planning including our own hosted events (‘Gridcog Unplugged’ - for sales prospects and customers), and exhibiting or speaking at trade shows such as Solar & Storage Live and E‑world, ensuring every detail is polished and consistent.
  • Support brand design tasks in tools such as Canva, ensuring all assets look professional and accurate.
  • Work collaboratively with our global teams in the UK, Europe and Australia across time zones to deliver campaigns and creative projects.
  • Support the development of brand, marketing and content strategies that contribute to our commercial goals.
  • Bring new ideas to the team and help shape our approach to content.

Must-haves

  • A genuine passion for videography, editing and motion graphics. Professional experience is welcome, although personal creative projects are equally valuable. We will want to see a portfolio that showcases your creativity in all three areas.
  • Education or experience in Marketing, Communications, Media or in a commercial environment.
  • An interest in marketing strategy and how content drives business impact, whether through your studies or your own reading, podcasts or side projects.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a small start‑up environment, with a willingness to get involved and shape our culture.
  • Confidence in sharing your ideas with the team.
  • Excellent attention to detail. You notice when copy is not quite right or when a design needs adjusting.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to craft clear, compelling sentences.
  • A love of creating and sharing content. Social copy, blogs, videos and case studies will form a key part of your work.

Nice‑to‑haves

  • A second European language.
  • Proficient experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects)
  • Experience working with global teams or across time zones.
  • Other marketing interests/skills such as paid ads or analytics.

Who you are

  • Motivated, curious and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Friendly, collaborative and comfortable managing your own workload.
  • Adaptable and full of creative potential.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Openness to occasional work travel for events.

What you will gain

  • The chance to make a real impact from your first day.
  • Exposure to global branding and marketing initiatives.
