Overview

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an ambitious Junior / Graduate Civil Design Engineer on behalf of a civil engineering / water main contractor. This reputable Water / Utilities contractor is growing and in need of a Design Engineer or Senior to supplement their growing in-house design team. The work covers the Yorkshire Water framework mainly with potential involvement on United Utilities if needed. The contractor has a turnover of £500m+ and is established internationally, known for large / heavy civil engineering, water, tunnelling & structures. The successful engineer will be part of a team responsible for in-house design and coordinating external design consultancies on Civil Engineering works on major Water Treatment works and storm tanks (projects from £500k to £20m+). This role is based out of an office in Leeds with regular site visits and offers hybrid working & flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Design work on water projects: waste water and clean water.
• Managing CAD output from technicians.
• Represent the company in meetings with stakeholders.
• Undertake site visits to gather information and data.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure smooth delivery on site.
• Documentation and drawing reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must have experience working as Graduate / Trainee / Junior Design Engineer for a civil engineering contractor delivering varied civil engineering works.
• Ideally have knowledge of waste water design including attenuation / drainage design and balancing.
• Fluent IT & English writing skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial.

Remuneration

On offer is a salary of up to £40,000 (dependant upon experience) plus package (car allowance, pension, fuel scheme, holidays, healthcare etc.).
