Junior Data Specialist

The purpose of this role is to provide data processing support to our data specialist team. The role will involve working with clients on packaging data submissions, updating product databases, carrying out data collection and validation activities. A high level of Excel skill is required, along with experience in a data related role. A small amount of travel around the UK may be required to conduct on site client visits.

Job Description

  • Data collection & processing
  • Assist with the collection, cleaning, and validation of packaging data from internal systems and external stakeholders.
  • Process and prepare datasets for regulatory and client submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform initial data quality checks, flagging inconsistencies or anomalies for review.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet submission deadlines and regulatory timelines.
  • Support the delivery of other data services.

Client engagement

  • Collaborate with account managers to coordinate collection and validation of clients' data.
  • Engage with clients to resolve data queries and validate data accuracy, in accordance with relevant legislation.

Documentation and compliance

  • Follow internal processes and ensure accurate completion of case management systems and templated documents.
  • Maintain detailed records of data processing methodologies for each client to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant data protection and confidentiality standards.

Person Specification

  • Strong analytical, organisation and administrative skills.
  • Can demonstrate, with experience, a high level of compliance and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire new skills, knowledge, and information.
  • Proficient in IT with a strong focus on Microsoft Excel, including experience with formulas and data manipulation (e.g. Power Query).
  • Proven ability to consistently complete tasks, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.
  • Experience of communicating technical information to clients.
  • Able to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
  • Persistent in problem solving and seeing tasks through to completion.

Package

  • c. £27,000 per annum
  • Permanent full-time contract (would consider some flexibility for the right candidate)
  • 28 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
