Junior Designer

New Today

Overview

ALVICA is a young London-based resort wear brand inspired by craftsmanship, travel and the spirit of an endless summer. Each collection is rooted in the cultural savoir-faire of a destination and created in close collaboration with artisans around the world. Our vision is to build a curated wardrobe of timeless summer pieces that carry a strong identity - blending joyful colours, feminine energy, and enduring elegance.

Role Overview: We are looking for a junior designer (freelance or part-time) to support the creative and production process for upcoming collections. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong eye for detail, a love of beautiful fabrics and craftsmanship, and experience translating ideas into tangible garments ready for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new styles: refining existing tech packs and designing new pieces.
  • Assist with fabric and trim research, sourcing swatches, and liaising with suppliers.
  • Propose embroidery and print ideas, including motifs, colourways, and placements aligned with Alvica’s aesthetic.
  • Create sketches, CADs, and simple technical drawings to support production.
  • Contribute to the creative identity of the brand across packaging, visual assets, and social media.
  • Assist with sample follow-up, fittings, and communication with production partners.
  • Keep files, moodboards, and references organised.

Practical Details

  • Freelance or part-time role, with flexibility for remote work.
  • Based in London or able to meet in person periodically is preferred.
  • Start date: ASAP.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A recent graduate or junior designer (fashion, textiles, or graphic/print design).
  • Confident in drawing (by hand or digital) and using design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • A good eye for colour, print, and embroidery, with an appreciation for detail.
  • Strong interest in craftsmanship, cultural storytelling, and sustainable fashion.
  • Organised, adaptable, and proactive — able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Someone curious, creative, and eager to learn and grow with a young brand.

Why You’ll Love This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the founder and see your ideas come to life, from moodboards to finished garments. You’ll gain hands-on experience in design, fabrics, embroidery, and collection development, while contributing to the growth of a young, culturally inspired brand.
