Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £47,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)

Employment type: Permanent, Hybrid (4 days in office per week)

Overview

HR Recruit is seeking an experienced HR professional for a Junior HR Business Partner vacancy. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a specialist to progress from operational HR into a strategic partnership function. You will deliver both strategic and operational support across the Newcastle site, helping shape and streamline processes within the HR Shared Services model.

Responsibilities

  • Change management: support and lead the continued integration of HR processes into the HR Shared Services model, with a focus on standardisation, simplification, and industrialisation.
  • Business partnering: partner with departments & management to enable a people‑first culture aligned with business objectives.
  • Generalist support: utilise a varied HR skill set to support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, prioritising key risk areas and activities.
  • Employee relations: support and coach managers through ER matters, ensuring best practice and compliance.
  • Organisational design: support managers and leaders in developing organisational designs aligned to business requirements.
  • Process excellence: improve existing HR practices across the site, focusing on standardisation and waste elimination.
  • Talent management: embed talent management frameworks, support people development and succession planning.
  • Compliance: ensure compliance within people‑management processes.
  • Employee engagement: identify engagement initiatives aligned to employee feedback and aim to improve culture.
  • Cross‑functional connectivity: build strong relationships across Newcastle, UK & Global P&C teams, and other functional areas.
  • Problem solving: adopt a problem‑solving mindset and lead problem‑solving activities.
  • Employee wellbeing: support mental and physical wellbeing of employees.

Person Specification

  • 5–7 years of previous HR experience in a generalist role.
  • Formal HR education such as CIPD, HNC, Diploma, Degree, etc.
  • Excellent employment law knowledge (UK).
  • Knowledge of change management.
  • Knowledge/awareness of project‑management principles.
  • Optimistic, motivated, resilient individual.
  • Results‑focused and comfortable operating independently.
  • Generalist knowledge of the employee lifecycle.

In return you will receive a salary of £47,000–£55,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus and excellent benefits.
