Junior Legal Counsel – Spectrum Brands (UK)

At Spectrum Brands, our Legal department is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join the International Home and Personal Care division (covering EMEA and APAC). You’ll play a key role in supporting household name brands including Russell Hobbs, Remington, and George Foreman.

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career solicitor to gain hands‑on experience in a global organisation. You’ll work alongside an experienced in‑house legal team, supporting a variety of matters across commercial, corporate, regulatory, and intellectual property – all while learning from industry experts and collaborating across markets.

The Role

  • Support the drafting and review of Distribution and Commercial Agreements.
  • Provide project support to the wider legal team, working closely with Legal Counsel and the Senior Director.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day legal matters across a range of areas, including commercial contracts, IT, operations, employment, data privacy, insurance, and intellectual property.
  • Assist the Senior Director on Regulatory and Quality matters.
  • Help review and approve marketing and advertising materials, including claims development, influencer agreements, and digital campaigns, working hand in hand with central and local Marketing teams.
  • Support on corporate governance and cross‑border transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with the US legal team and colleagues across EMEA and APAC, ensuring consistency in advice and compliance.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, helping to streamline processes and support business growth.

About you

  • Be a qualified solicitor with 0-1 years’ PQE, gained either in private practice or in‑house.
  • Have strong foundation in commercial contracts; additional exposure to marketing, IP, data protection, or regulatory work would be advantageous.
  • Be a commercially minded advisor, able to balance legal risk with business priorities.
  • Be highly organised, adaptable, and confident in managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a positive, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Be curious and eager to broaden your expertise across multiple legal disciplines within a dynamic global business.

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with option to buy additional 5.
  • Company pension – up to 9% matched employer contribution.
  • Life assurance.
  • Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home).
