Osborne Clarke is excited to announce an opportunity for a Junior Test Analyst to join our dynamic IT team in Bristol. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to advance their careers in software testing and quality assurance. As a Junior Test Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our IT software portfolio, which includes both custom-developed applications and off-the-shelf platforms.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.
The Role
As a Junior Test Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
- Test Planning and Strategy: Assisting in the development of detailed test plans, test coverage, test conditions, and test cases based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Test Execution: Conducting functional, regression, and integration testing to identify defects, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Defect Management: Reporting and managing defects using testing tools, tracking defects, and ensuring resolution by validation of fixes.
- Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment on testing objectives and outcomes.
- Documentation: Assisting in creating and maintaining test documentation, including test scenarios, test data, and test reports for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance testing, tools, and processes to improve overall quality assurance practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Providing updates on testing progress, results, and issues to stakeholders, highlighting risks and recommendations.
We Are Looking For
We are looking for the following skills & experience for this role:
- Experience: A practical understanding of the Agile delivery model with the ability to convert user stories into a comprehensive test plan, be fully equipped with all test phases, and have a proven track record of successful testing.
- Accreditation: Basic understanding or accreditation in testing methodologies such as ISTQB, CTFL, Scrum.org or equivalent certifications.
- Test Management Tools: Familiarity with test management tools (such as Azure DevOps or similar).
- Testing Techniques: Basic understanding and application of various testing techniques and methodologies, Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Automation: Hands-on knowledge of test automation tools, such as MS Playwright, will be a significant advantage.
