Kraken and Octopus Energy are looking for a very strong Global Client Partner to lead the day-to-day business relationship between Octopus Energy and Kraken. The Client Partner role is an orchestrator role, representing Octopus Energy within Kraken and ensuring that their business priorities are understood and considered by Kraken. You will be accountable for client satisfaction and revenue growth.
Octopus Energy and Kraken need to have strong collaboration across the different activities that define the relationship and ensure both companies can perform successfully.
What will you be doing?
The Client Partner will ensure collaboration across activities that define the relationship and that both companies can perform successfully. The role is an orchestrator representing Octopus Energy within Kraken, ensuring business priorities are understood and considered by Kraken. You will be accountable for client satisfaction and revenue growth.
The main responsibilities for this role will include:
- Own the commercial and business relationship with Octopus Energy as the primary day-to-day point of contact for Kraken
- Single point of contact for escalations and other concerns that can negatively impact the relationship
- Identify areas for broader strategic collaboration across the two companies
- Understand OE’s business strategy and challenges, anticipating how adoption of additional parts of the Kraken portfolio can accelerate their success. Orchestrate internal and partner resources to seize these new opportunities. Upsell/cross-sell
- Oversee the impact of OE business needs on Kraken’s roadmap. Scope and manage client expectations linked to larger projects. Calibrate expectations based on roadmap and development commitments
- Accountable for client revenue, ensuring alignment between contractual commitments, delivery and invoicing
- Regularly monitor the quality of the client relationship and facilitate joint governance sessions with senior management on both sides (e.g. QBRs). Anticipate deviations and manage expectations. Manage relationship escalations
- Align with Technical Account Managers supporting Octopus Energy to ensure that overall tech development progresses and client expectations are managed
What you'll need
- Ideally, you have an engineering background, or extensive experience working in Tech with engineers and product teams. You understand the business model and trade-offs of a SaaS business
- You possess direct and extensive experience with both the sales and delivery processes for complex B2B technology. You understand client needs, decision-making factors, and are comfortable working at senior levels within client organisations to build successful collaborations. You have experience in quota-carrying roles or managing a P&L
- You are adept at navigating complex client organizations undergoing business transformation (strategy, processes, revenue models), including the emotional and political aspects of decision-making. You understand the dynamics of risk and change within companies and enjoy guiding them through transitions. Your business transformation expertise can stem from internal or external experience
- You have solid experience in the energy sector, ideally Energy Retail, and ideally, you\'ve held an operational role within an energy company. You understand their business model and the transformations they\'ll need to compete successfully, including operational efficiencies and innovation for new revenue streams. Relevant experience from other transforming sectors, such as Telecom or Banking, is also applicable
- You can demonstrate established senior-level relationships with clients, partners, and past employers. You can provide examples of proactively initiating conversations at senior levels to resolve business issues or identify opportunities. You are accustomed to regular executive-level interactions and can respectfully challenge when needed
- You have experience working in France and have also dealt extensively with other European countries. You are sensitive to cultural differences and understand how they influence behavior. Additional languages are a plus
- You are described as empathetic, skilled at building relationships without compromising your position. You listen attentively, excel at reframing, and secure alignment while finding solutions for all parties. You possess C-level presence and engage in meaningful dialogue regardless of seniority. You work with the right people to resolve issues or identify new opportunities
- You can provide examples of proactively initiating conversations at all levels and respectfully challenging when needed. You take pride in defining areas for improvement and developing solutions
- While familiarity with the Kraken platform is ideal, experience with similar platforms and data-driven decision-making in previous roles is valuable. You are comfortable working with data to inform business strategies
