Overview

The role supports the successful delivery of the project portfolio and helps drive progress toward a net-zero carbon future across our electricity distribution network. You’ll be responsible for securing, managing, and maintaining land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines, and ground-mounted equipment on public and private land.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement consent strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in a sustainable manner.
  • Proactively manage risks to safeguard the long-term security of the electricity network.
  • Lead negotiations and secure wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisitions, lease agreements, and access permissions.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of compensation claims.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience securing wayleaves, servitudes, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.
  • Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, national agencies and the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit.
  • A solid understanding and practical application of land rights, planning procedures, and environmental legislation.
  • A full, current driving licence.
