Lead Associate – Project Team (12-Month Secondment/Acting Up Opportunity)

The Financial Conduct Authority regulates financial services firms and financial markets in the UK. The Consumer Finance Directorate manages the FCA’s regulatory oversight of a diverse range of firms, including credit cards, motor finance, and retail finance.

The Finance, Credit and Debt Services (FCDS) department comprises supervision teams for Retail Finance, Motor Finance, Debt Purchase and Collections, and others. The Project Team conducts cross-sector multi-firm work and projects on key areas of risk, focusing on firms’ compliance with the Consumer Duty and Handbook rules.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing day-to-day aspects of delivering important cross-sector projects
  • Supporting the team to complete desk-based reviews and firm visits to a high standard and helping them to present findings to firms, FCA stakeholders, and industry
  • Working with associates and senior associates, providing motivation, direction, advice, guidance, coaching, and feedback
  • Supporting the Manager in overseeing team activity, influencing strategy, determining priority projects, and resource planning
  • Maintaining high standards through a local quality assurance framework and allocating tasks to colleagues
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
