Position Overview:
Multi-award-winning managed service provider base is seeking an experienced, analytically minded, lateral thinker, with outstanding client-facing communication skills, to join our rapidly growing Programs (Professional Services) team as Lead Business Analyst.
As a key member of the Programs team at base, reporting to the Director of Programs, you will be responsible for working with our top-tier Enterprise customers, whilst building out and sub-team managing Business Analysts across multiple initiatives.
In your customer-facing role on major programs, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements on digital transformation and cloud systems integration projects, with a focus on global-scale strategic initiatives, cutting-edge use of public cloud, software-as-a-service integrations, and AI-infused workflows.
In your internal role as a sub-team manager, you will be a player-coach leader, setting the highest standards in delivery and holding your team accountable to meet your exacting quality expectations.
This is a senior, client-facing position, working directly with stakeholders and across our enterprise customer accounts, as well as with in-house consultancy, engineering, software development, and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Programs
- Undertake research and analysis to understand how a business or business area works, considering the people, organisation, processes, information, data, and technology
- Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing transformational solutions
- Manage requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring that requirements can be traced in the design, build, test, tender, and evaluation phases
- Ensure that the solutions we build align with customers’ goals
- Create wireframes and user stories
- Produce workflow designs for ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ processes
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Document critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and writing reports
- Create functional design documentation and work closely with Solution Architects and Engineering to communicate the requirements for the creation of system integration designs, prior to software development commencement
- Working directly with third-party contractors and outsourced developers to ensure consistent communication and quality of delivery across integration projects
- Working with assigned enterprise accounts to consult and advise on streamlining their base solutions, in collaboration with the sales and account management team
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a small team of Business Analysts, comprising a mix of full-time staff and preferred contractors
- Provide mentorship, training, and coaching to ensure high performance across your team
- Set up and maintain standardized documentation, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency across all Business Analysis initiatives, across all Programs
- Work in collaboration with the Senior Program Manager to ensure seamless communication between all teams and projects
Essential Skills
- At least 10 years as a Business Analyst, with experience in a lead BA role, preferably working within the media tech, cloud & SaaS, or broadcast industries
- Demonstrable experience working on global scale programs / projects, for large Enterprise organizations
- Agile Business Analysis
- Understanding of Scrum
- You have the ability to;
- clearly visually communicate processes, organisational structures, systems, data, and roles and responsibilities, and how they interact with one another. (BPMN + UML and other visual diagramming)
- translate business drivers, goals, and constraints into business objectives
- work in a fast-paced environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery
- manage and communicate with demanding stakeholders and clients in a calm and professional manner
- communicate and collaborate within and across teams and departments
Attributes and Career Goals:
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual diagramming communication skills.
- Confidence and ability to communicate with stakeholders and management at all levels (including C-Suite).
- Knowledge of media workflows and digital video content distribution
- A team player with a desire to share knowledge and train other team members
- A self-starter, resourceful with outstanding problem-solving skills
- Calm and capable under pressure
- Well-organized and capable of meeting project deadlines and delivering work to the highest possible standard
- Confidence speaking within the business to your peers, explaining complex concepts in easy-to-understand language
- A growth mindset, demonstrating a passion for continual learning and improvement
Tools and Products Knowledge:
- Jira & Confluence
- Lucidchart or similar
Experience in broadcast or digital media is preferred, with existing knowledge of the following:
- MAM (Media Asset Management) or DAM (Digital Asset Management)
- Post-Production Technology and Workflows
- Cloud Storage / Cloud Hosting
- Software-as-a-Service
- Software Integration
- AI technologies
