Overview

Lead Buyer, New Product Development at Videojet, a Veralto company. This is a hybrid role based in Huntingdon, UK or Nottingham, UK. You will establish professional and innovative procurement practices to strategically develop and sustainably source assigned commodities globally, assuring long-term supply for Veralto at world-class levels of quality, delivery, and total cost. The position contributes to new product development, working closely with Research and Development teams to launch world-class products. Focus areas include early supplier engagement, sourcing and launch materials management.

In this role, a typical day will look like

  • Participate and take ownership of new product development procurement activities from early-stage identification of market requirements through to product launch
  • Complete components planning and procurement (dock to stock), Suppliers on Board, Delivery and Cost targets met, and successful product planning hand-off to Commodity Manager and Buyer-planners
  • Collaborate and foster excellent relationships between Suppliers, Engineering and Supply-Chain teams to support delivery of world-class products and services
  • Represent Procurement in cross-functional project teams to deliver the new product on time and on cost
  • Provide regular reports and updates on project status including cost and on-time delivery
  • Interface with recent acquisitions to develop and implement Global Procurement best practices for product development innovation and VAVE
  • Develop and manage the prototype supply base and end-of-life supply base
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms for Videojet

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical background desirable)
  • 4+ years of professional Procurement experience (will consider Supply Chain, Operations or Project Management) ideally with a global outlook
  • Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiar with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Lean Manufacturing certifications desirable
  • Travel: Travel up to 25% could be required and may be higher at times. Travel regions may include Europe, the US, and countries in Asia or South America
