We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Lead Commercial Manager - Supply Chain/Partnerships, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.

We are currently recruiting for a number of Commercial roles to support our exciting new business including a Lead Commercial Manager role in the Commercial Supply Chain/Partnerships function supporting the delivery of our first Customer contract.
The role provides the unique opportunity to work in an exciting new nuclear age engaging and working with strategic customers, suppliers and partners, developing meaningful relationships with some of largest entities across the globe.
Key Results & What can be achieved in the role
The role will require the successful candidate to manage and lead on a variety of commercial activities, predominantly the Contract delivery interface activities required to deliver our Customer contracts. It is expected that the role will include setting up the toolkits required such as policies, processes, procedures, templates etc and then managing the activities and interfaces required to ensure smooth compliance from within the Commercial Supply Chain and Partnership teams against the Customer contract requirements.
Providing support and sharing your experience with more junior members is key to our collaborative team culture to support the development of our function. We will also expect Lead Commercial Managers to deputise for Head of Commercial and independently lead on complex internal and external business/commercial activities and may include people management responsibilities.

Key Selection Criteria
Contract knowledge
- Knowledgeable in drafting, negotiating, executing and managing contracts with third parties, such as suppliers, customers and partners.
- You will need to draw on your contract negotiation and management experience to support the set up and in-contract delivery of the Customer contracts from within the Project Delivery team with a focus on Supplier and Supply Chain Partner requirements, flow downs, and compliance.
- Experience of negotiating on company templates as well as reviewing and working on third party forms of contracts or industry forms/models in respect of contract terms and conditions and other commercial elements of a contract is essential. NEC and/or FIDIC contract experience would be an advantage.
- Contribute and deliver the commercial thinking into business strategies relating to the delivery of our Customer contract in respect of suppliers and partners. This could include determining and drafting appropriate formal communications, notifications, approval requests, payment applications, dealing with issues, and identifying and managing risk. You will be a key decision maker on behalf of the Supply Chain and Partnership function in respect of the Customer contract delivery.
Development of the Commercial Function
- A priority activity is the development and maturity of the commercial function in a newly formed business including leading activities and improvements in relation to governance, processes, policies, training and the development of contract templates and guidance. We would also expect you to be involved in developing and mentoring more junior members of the team and leading wider business training and commercial awareness initiatives as well as potential line management responsibility as the function expands which will involve leading and organising teams and managing, supervising and reporting on a portfolio of responsibilities.
Internal interface
- You will be interfacing with internal stakeholders, individual and departments within the Company at all levels for a variety of purposes. You ideally will have already gained experience in influencing, challenging, decision making within a challenging and ambiguous environment.
Presenting Information to stakeholders
- You will already have existing experience in taking information, understanding, and presenting it in an appropriate and compelling format, which includes formal communications to the appropriate stakeholders. We would also expect you to deputise for the Head of Commercial and represent the Commercial directorate internally and externally.

We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
