Data Services and Analytics (DSA) is part of DDaT, leading the build of data products to integrate data from multiple sources, and delivering products for business intelligence, reporting, and data science. DSA aims to be a leading provider of insight services in UK Government and is currently growing significantly, with over 300 colleagues providing services to various functions within the Home Office.

In this role, you will identify and deliver new data sources, develop ETL processes, and collaborate with the Data Acquisition, Analytics, and Infrastructure teams to implement the data strategy through the design and deployment of technology systems.

The successful candidate will be based at one of the following regional offices: Ruskin Square – Croydon, Soapworks - Manchester, or Vulcan House - Sheffield. Under Home Office hybrid working practices, there is an expectation that you will attend the office at least 60% of your working hours.


Lead Data Analysts should have a genuine passion for analytics, an innovative mindset, and a willingness to question current methods to enhance processes and offer new perspectives.

As a Lead Data Analyst, you will explore and exploit complex data sets, analytical tools, and techniques to support various stakeholders across the Home Office. You will ensure exploration of innovative opportunities, evaluate options, impacts, risks, and solutions, and provide clear problem definitions to maximize the use of new data and technology.

You will build and manage a network of colleagues and contacts to achieve shared objectives.

You will be a thought leader within the Data Analysis community and oversee the development of junior staff.
