Location Plymouth, South West England, PL6 5WS Job Summary The IT Operations Practice sits within the Transformation & Technology Directorate. This Lead DevOps Engineer will provide technical engineering capability for the DevOps practice, leading platforms, managing roadmaps, and championing DevOps methodologies, processes and tooling. Responsibilities

Lead on DevOps platforms and technologies, driving technical consolidation and improvement activities. Collaborate with development teams to deliver new services, managing technical risk and implementing mitigations. Provide technical leadership and coaching to DevOps Engineers throughout the IT Operations Practice. Work across Transformation & Technology to support and deliver solutions aligned with technology and business strategies.

Qualifications

Degree Level or equivalent in Information Technology or related field. Technical leadership experience on DevOps platforms and technologies. Deep technical expertise in Kubernetes and AWS. Infrastructure‑as‑code scripting using Terraform or similar tooling. Experience planning and leading significant technical change to DevOps platforms. Ability to learn and understand new technology quickly. Effective communication skills, building relationships with stakeholders.
