Overview

Lead Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor (EHS) based at Brimsdown, London. You will form part of the EHS team to assist the EHS Manager on all matters relating to occupational health & safety, general safety, environmental and wellbeing at the Brimsdown site. You will proactively participate within the EHS team, offering solutions as issues arise, and actively promote and support a positive safety culture. You will ensure focus and delivery of activities to drive programmatic safety risk reduction, including implementation and verification of practices against JM safety policies to ensure compliance, reporting metrics and incidents to JM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide early warning and planning guidance to businesses and site leadership regarding any matters that could impact safety.
  • Ensure compliance with Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations, local legislation, internal safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Address day-to-day EHS related operational issues, e.g. risk assessments and responding to general queries.
  • Initiate, facilitate and support Management of Change (MoC) assessment processes.
  • Ensure risk reduction and mitigation actions are implemented effectively through verification auditing.
  • Coordinate and lead the EHS audit programme in support of maintaining the company ISO and other established compliance standards.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate and working towards a Diploma or similar H&S Qualification. Essential
  • Previous EHS experience/proven background in an industrial, process driven or engineering setting. Essential
  • Understanding of EHS legislation including risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP, LOPA, COSHH and Ergonomic considerations. Essential
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, COMAH, COSHH and Environmental Permitting. Essential
  • Trained Auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or ISO 9001. Essential
  • Recognised training qualification. Essential
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills. Essential
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills. Essential
  • Delivers Innovative & Practical Solutions. Essential
