We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer in Web Development to join our team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical expertise to help design, develop, test, and implement solutions that meet business and customer needs.

You will significantly impact how Royal London develops applications and will bring both leadership and technical expertise.

This role offers opportunities for career growth within a team dedicated to internal progression. It focuses on our new Pensions Application stack, contributing to our goal of strengthening mutual choices for our customers through innovative technology solutions.

About the role

• Leading the development of complex technical solutions and managing your workload and that of your team.
• Providing technical guidance to developers, proactively and reactively.
• Ensuring all code complies with Royal London standards, guidelines, and quality gates.
• Fostering collaboration within the team and with dependent teams.
• Sharing knowledge and experience within your technical area at the practice level.

About you

• Experience in enterprise web development with Angular is essential.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle and agile practices.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong team collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for developing technical skills in emerging technologies.
