Lead Fullstack Engineering (Java/JavaScript) opportunity at Lloyds Banking Group. Hybrid working options available. Full-time, 35 hours per week.

Location(s): Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds & Halifax

Salary: £90,440-127,680 per annum

Working Pattern: Hybrid; our work style is hybrid, with at least two days per week (40%) in one of the specified offices.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead engineering teams to design, build, test, and deploy modular, cloud-native applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Quality Engineers, and stakeholders to align technical delivery with goals.
  • Drive architectural decisions and governance for scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Integrate with internal systems and third-party APIs to deliver intuitive user experiences.
  • Shape engineering strategy and influence platform direction and ways of working.
  • Mentor and develop talent in an inclusive environment.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for adaptable, curious engineers passionate about building great software. Please highlight relevant experience with the following skills and technologies:

  • Leadership Experience
    Proven ability to lead and grow engineering teams, shape technical strategy, and influence cross-functional collaboration.
  • Programming Expertise
    Backend: Java, RESTful APIs; frameworks such as Spring Boot and Node.js are beneficial.
  • Frontend Development
    JavaScript/TypeScript; frameworks/libraries such as React, Next.js, Redux, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • DevOps & Cloud
    CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Harness); Docker, Kubernetes; cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure also welcome).
  • Quality Testing & Automation
    Automated testing tools (Jest, Cypress, Pact); writing reliable, maintainable, well-tested code.
