Lead Group Accountant – Temporary- 9-Month Maternity Cover

Hybrid Role: Street Somerset BA16 0EQ

Purpose:

Responsible for the preparation of monthly group reporting for submission to the ultimate parent company and ownership of the fixed asset function.

Accountabilities:

Group Reporting:

• Responsible for the initial preparation of the monthly group consolidation of 63 group entities and supporting files under IFRS
• Preparation of monthly exchange summary
• Preparation of assigned schedules in monthly and year-end group reporting pack
• Key contact for the auditors concerning queries relating to the group reporting pack and consolidation
• Provide support for the year-end audit process to meet timelines of HKX listed parent company

Fixed assets

• Line manager to Fixed Asset and Inventory Accountant
• Preparation of fixed asset related disclosures at interim and year-end, for both parent company reporting and all statutory financial statements within the Clarks Group
• Review of fixed asset ownership report
• Preparation of monthly intangibles adjustment for group reporting
• Regular review of the group fixed asset register for discrepancies and disposals

Other:

• Work with the Finance Systems Controller to help drive improved systems processes, month end reconciliations and reporting.
• Ad-hoc project work as directed by the Senior Manager Global Finance Reporting or Group Director of External Reporting and Accounting
• Support for testing of changes in SAP for areas of responsibility

Skills Knowledge and Experience:

• Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience preparing group consolidations
• Knowledge of accounting systems with ability to use SAP
• Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• A well organised and structured method of working, with the ability to prioritise tasks and projects
• Experience working to tight deadlines
