The Engineering Platform team is on a mission to create the next generation technical platform for Lloyds Banking Group. What you’ll be doing

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the HCP Terraform, including deployment of hosted components on Kubernetes and other host platforms.
  • Design and implement configuration changes to extend the HCP Terraform service to fit speed of cloud deployments and hybrid cloud management.
  • Secure the use of HCP Terraform with policy controls and custom scripts.
  • Develop Harness pipelines to automate CI/CD deployment.
  • Automate processes, develop reusable components, write automated tests, perform code reviews, and create technical documentation – lead by example.
  • Own, lead and drive features and stories via Jira and Jira Align.
  • Assess and exploit new features to deliver value to engineering customers.
  • Promote and advocate for HCP Terraform and DevOps services across the LBG Engineering community. Advise on best practices for Terraform and IaC.
  • Provide specialist support for the run and service aspects of the HCP Terraform Service.
  • Lead technical conversations with partners at varying levels of technical background, including Senior Management and other Subject Matter Experts.
  • Collaborate across internal, external, and third-party teams, working closely with other team members.
  • Provide leadership, education and mentoring to support junior colleagues and drive upskilling.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Extensive experience with IaC using Terraform and other IaC languages.
  • Experience building solutions for public cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) including compute, storage, security, and networking.
  • Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes, including deployment using Helm and cloud Kubernetes services (AKS, GKE).
  • Experience with enterprise-class automation toolsets are desirable.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Harness, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Proficient understanding of CI/CD principles, version control, automated testing, deployment strategies, and IaC.
  • Strong experience of DevOps automation principles, processes and toolsets including repositories, scanning, testing tools, and certificate and secrets management.
  • Experience with at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python or Go.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with a passion for sharing knowledge and guiding team members.
