The Role

Our client is seeking a Lead Mobile Engineer to join their team, reporting directly to the CTO. In this high-impact leadership role, you will drive the development of mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and cloud services that underpin their next-generation medical products. The work you deliver will not only shape the business but will also be highly visible to their customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of mobile applications and cloud services
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of software systems
  • Create and maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance
  • Champion best practices across the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with and mentor other team members to drive delivery and standards
  • Support the planning and scoping of product releases

Essential Criteria

  • Strong mobile and web application development expertise
  • Proven track record leading technical teams and delivering successful projects
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Experience with cloud hosting platforms (Heroku/AWS)
  • Passion for programming and technology in general
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Mercurial, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with unit testing and TDD

Desirable Criteria

  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) application development experience
  • Python (Django) API development experience
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (medical, automotive, or similar)
  • Familiarity with JIRA (or other task management tools)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration systems (GitLab CI)

Academic Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
