Are you a clinically experienced Occupational Health professional ready to step into a leadership role? This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated in-house Occupational Health team within a high-profile transport environment.
As the Occupational Health Lead Nurse, you’ll be at the heart of delivering and shaping high-quality OH services. You’ll provide clinical leadership, mentor the team, and ensure the highest standards of governance, service delivery, and patient care.
About the Role
You’ll combine hands-on clinical work with strategic leadership, managing the day-to-day operations of the department alongside the OH & Operational Standards Manager and working closely with the in-house Occupational Health Physician.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading all clinical aspects of the Occupational Health service, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred care
Conducting medicals, health surveillance, management referrals, and workplace risk assessments
Managing complex cases, triaging, and providing expert clinical advice
Driving clinical governance, quality assurance, and service improvement projects
Overseeing the implementation of a new OH software system and ensuring accurate record-keeping
Delivering mentorship, training, and professional supervision to the OH team
Supporting strategic priorities such as wellbeing programmes, vaccination campaigns, and SEQOHS accreditation
Collaborating with operational leaders on risk assessments and workplace health initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Registered Nurse with active NMC registration (SCPHN preferred)
Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health Nursing (degree/diploma) desirable
At least 3 years’ OH experience, ideally in a safety-critical or transport environment
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
Proven knowledge of OH legislation, clinical governance, and best practice
Confident in using OH software and interpreting data for reporting
Excellent communication, influencing, and organisational skills
Vaccination training and health campaign delivery experience
Full UK driving licence
