PH Jones are looking for an experienced Lead Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Fixed Term Contract/secondment for 8/12 months with a hybrid working pattern, both onsite at our Stockport office, and working from home.

As a Lead Payroll Specialist with PH Jones, you will find a variety of different payroll tasks to complete daily.In addition, you must also possess the skills and experience to manage the mobilisation and testing process of setting up payroll systems, as part of our growth strategy and expansion.
These will include, but are not limited to:
- Full end to end payroll processing weekly and monthly paid employees
- Produce earnings analysis on weekly/monthly basis for approval
- Set up and process any attachment of earnings orders in a timely manner
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and streamline operations during mobilisation.
- Mitigating potential risks associated with payroll mobilisation, such as data security or compliance issues
- Working with various stakeholders (e.g., HR, finance, IT) to ensure a smooth and efficient payroll mobilisation process
- Manage employee benefits deductions (share save and salary sacrifice)
- Update and balance PAYE report, submitting to HMRC on monthly basis
- Deal with any ad hoc queries (e.g. mortgage applications, references, government statistics, etc.
The Person
- To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of Payroll, related legislation, tax and PAYE procedures
- Experienced in Payroll mobilisation and risk management
- Experience managing end-to-end mobilisation and testing, including integration with time, HR, finance, and third-party systems
- Strong knowledge of test tools, methodologies, and best practices
- CIPP qualified, or equivalent (desirable)
- A strong analytical background
- The successful candidate will be a highly competent user of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Outlook and Word) with strong IT skills and an ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent team-working skills, with the ability to respond professionally to payroll enquiries.
- We are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, who is self-motivated with a problem-solving approach.
- You will have the ability to respond positively to changing workloads and priorities, with a willingness to undertake varied payroll responsibilities.
- You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure and manage your workload, with a high attention to detail.
- Proven experience as a Lead Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, preferably within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
- Knowledge of Navision/Miracle Pay software would be advantageous
