Overview

Lead PHP Developer – Huddersfield / Hybrid. £50,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits. An experienced Lead Developer is needed for a rapidly growing business based in Huddersfield. You will have a proven track record in a Senior role and have the responsibility of leading daily stand ups and performing in-depth code reviews. This role would suit someone with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, and a history of taking ownership of products / platforms / delivery. The role will still be a hands-on position, utilising your experience with PHP, Laravel, MySQL and similar tech. You’ll drive technical standards and help to grow and develop the team through mentoring and collaboration. This role will initially be on-site during an onboarding period with the opportunity to work to a hybrid model once you have settled in.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily stand ups and perform in-depth code reviews.
• Hands-on development using PHP and Laravel; work with MySQL and related technologies.
• Drive technical standards and best practices.
• Mentor and develop the team through collaboration and guidance.
• Take ownership of products, platforms and delivery.
• Collaborate during onboarding and contribute to a smooth transition to a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Required:
• Expert PHP and Laravel skills.
• Experience in large-scale application development.
• MySQL, Git, CI/CD.
• Understanding of cloud environments.
• Agile methodology and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Desirables – JavaScript frameworks, DevOps tools, containerisation.
