Hybrid working is required with Tuesday and Wednesday based out of one of the following locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow or Staines. This position is for a minimum duration of 6 months. Applicants must be able to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check.
The Role
The Lead Planner will be accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. The Lead will supervise and manage the Planning team, delegating work, reviewing outputs, providing guidance and support, and managing the development of Planning team members. This is an ideal role for an experienced Lead Planner managing Planning across a portfolio of brownfield EPCm projects.

Responsibilities
- Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets; assess the impact of change requests on schedules
- Participate in schedule risk analysis and lead/participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
- Mentor and develop Planning personnel
- Act as Planning focal point for specific project scopes
- Maintain planning control structures aligned with the approved Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software
- Monitor and control planning activities through all project phases
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and third parties to track activities and their impact on schedules and manpower
- Produce and review progress and performance reports per project requirements
- Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
- Monitor overall project progress, milestones and performance against plan
- Attend internal progress and performance meetings as required

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or business discipline
- Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning and Risk Analysis
- Significant experience in a senior planning role
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling tools, CPM analysis, resource loading/levelling
- Knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling and EPCm Cost Management
- Ability to manage planning across a framework; drive standardisation and best practices
- Ability to mentor/train to transform current workflows
