Description
Location: London, UK or Oslo, Norway. We’re collecting applications throughout December. Because of the holiday season, our team will begin reviewing candidates from 5 January 2026. Thanks for your patience, and happy holidays!
This is a pivotal moment to join Xeneta’s UX Design organization as a Lead Product Designer, where you will shape the strategic direction of our product ecosystem and influence how global industry leaders make freight procurement decisions.
Xeneta is the world’s leading ocean and air freight rate benchmarking and market analytics platform, built on over 400 million freight rates. Our platform powers decision-making for some of the world’s most recognized brands, and our UX team plays a critical role in transforming massive datasets into experiences that are intuitive, insightful, and actionable.
We have recently embarked on a major transformation initiative to harmonize datasets, deliver personalized insights, and elevate the user experience across our platform. As a Lead Product Designer, you will be a key strategic driver of this initiative — setting quality standards, providing creative leadership, and helping shape the future of Xeneta’s design practice.
Job Responsibilities

- Lead discovery and user research initiatives that uncover deep insights and reveal strategic opportunities.
Execution & Craft
- Design and synthesize complex research insights to shape product direction and address usability challenges.
- Create user journeys, information architectures, system flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI that define the next generation of Xeneta’s experience.
- Simplify complexities around data visualisation, helping our users get actionable insights seamlessly.
- Create next‑generation experiences by applying expertise in Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Data Visualisation to develop compelling product experiences.
- Produce design outputs that foster clarity and alignment across product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Drive design decisions using a combination of qualitative research, customer interviews, and user metrics.
Collaboration & Ownership
- Drive the full end‑to‑end design process—from exploration to delivery and post‑launch iteration.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and feedback to other designers, elevating overall team quality and process maturity.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure cohesive, high‑impact outcomes.
- Bring structure to ambiguous problems and proactively identify opportunities to improve the product and customer experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
About You
You are a thoughtful, strategic, and hands‑on design leader who excels at simplifying complexity and guiding teams toward clarity. You operate comfortably at both the systems level and the pixel level, and you consistently elevate the quality of outcomes and collaboration.
- You think holistically and understand how individual features connect to broader workflows and product strategy.

- You lead collaboratively, with humility and curiosity.
- You are proactive and biased toward action—you bring clarity and momentum to teams.
Your Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design or a related field (advanced certifications are a plus).
- 7+ years of product design experience, with significant time spent in enterprise/SaaS environments.
- Strong experience designing for complex systems, data‑rich products, or multi‑layer business domains.
- Expertise working with and contributing to design systems at scale.
- A strong foundation in data visualization principles and presenting complex information clearly.
- Have a portfolio that showcases a proven track record of shipping user‑centric design work (please include your portfolio link and password to be considered for this role).
- Nice to have: Experience designing applications in complex business domains (e.g., financial services).
- Proven ability to deliver impactful, user‑centered solutions supported by research and measurable outcomes.
What We Offer
- You will be part of a growing company redefining a multi‑billion dollar industry through a period of unprecedented upheaval. Your work will have significant impact on this.
- You will work together with highly motivated colleagues who are curious to learn something new from you, and to teach you what they are good at.
- We have a transparent and open work environment where everyone is empowered to make an impact and encouraged to voice their ideas.
- We will help you grow your career: our managers will help identify areas of improvement for you, either if you want to grow into a specialist in your field, or if you want to eventually go into leadership / management direction.
- You will receive an individual education budget and can educate yourself during work hours: you can spend several hours each month attending courses, reading books or getting involved in communities.
- We value work‑life balance, and we want to make sure you can spend quality time with your family or enjoy your hobbies when your workday is over.
- We have flexible working hours (core time with meetings is 10:00 to 15:00, the rest is up to you) and you can work remotely for extended periods of time when needed.
- You will enjoy our generous vacation plan: 5‑10 extra paid days off around public holidays throughout the year, in addition to 5 weeks of paid vacation.
