Lead Technical Architect, End User Compute & Collaboration (EUC&C) – HO – G7

Location: Croydon, Manchester, Southport | Employment type: Full-time (flexible working; minimum 60% in the office where applicable)

We are seeking a senior technical leader to drive the design and implementation of enterprise-wide EUC&C solutions, align with government strategies, and guide cross-functional teams on modern technologies with a focus on security, agility, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide technical strategies, roadmaps, and architectures aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee design reviews, ensuring Secure by Design principles and architectural governance.
  • Coordinate with cross-government teams and external partners to deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Drive digital innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and championing continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach architects, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects, addressing risks, budgets, and timelines with stakeholders.
  • Evaluate outcomes and integrate lessons learned into future strategies.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to lead complex technical architectures, with a track record of innovation and best practices.
  • Experience across multiple domains, coordinating with third-party suppliers and cross-government teams.
  • Aptitude for anticipating future technologies and aligning solutions with broader strategies.
  • Experience delivering secure, reliable, and scalable systems within time and quality constraints.
  • Strong grasp of agile methodologies, DevOps, design patterns, and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to translate technical topics for diverse audiences.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other architects or technical professionals.
