Join to apply for the Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal role at IVC Evidensia.
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step in your career? Tern Vets is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lead Veterinary Surgeon to help shape the future of Tern Vets. We’re offering relocation support of up to £5000, as well as a welcome bonus of £5000 (pro rata).
About The Role
Join our team and play a pivotal role in the growth and development of our clinical staff. As a Senior Vet, you will be responsible for your own clinical workload, as well as helping to ensure that all clinical standards are maintained at the highest possible level. We’re eager to tailor the clinical caseload around your own specific interests where possible. You’ll be supported by our new, fantastic Practice Director, Victoria Peterson, who has recently moved to Tern following a busy Clinical Director role at another local IVC site.
Working hours that work for you. The role would typically entail working up to 40 hours per week (including weekends as determined by our rota). No out of hours or on call required. We understand that everyone has unique needs and commitments, which is why we offer part-time and flexible hours to suit all lifestyles.
Whether you’re managing family responsibilities, continuing your education, or pursuing other interests, our adaptable scheduling options ensure you can achieve the perfect work-life balance.
About Our Practice
We have a team composed of vets on both full and part time hours, along with our experienced nursing team made up of RVNs and SVNs. We are a Nurse training Practice and also take on Harper Adams placements. Our veterinary team holds certificates in Feline Medicine, Dermatology and Advanced Veterinary Practice (emergency and critical care and soft tissue modules) with further interests in ophthalmology and cardiology. The successful candidate will be welcomed, well supported where necessary but also given clinical freedom. We are a current, progressive and collaborative practice who strive to keep looking forward. Our purpose built sites have well equipped consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres with multi parameter monitoring and a bair hugger, imaging suite with xray, ultrasound and endoscopy, laparoscopic bitch spay equipment, Tonopen and dental facilities with dental xray on the way.
What the team have to say
"I joined the team at Tern Vets after working there over a few months as a locum. I was immediately made to feel welcome and part of the team and the varied case load combined with the priority placed on team learning and discussion made me feel it was a place I could progress clinically. So far I’ve gained further surgical experience and look forward to developing skills in laparoscopic surgeries." - Kaitlin, Veterinary Surgeon.
What do our clients think of us?
"Tern vets Newport are in my opinion the very best around always a warm welcome from reception to seeing the vet, everything is laid out for you in clear language. They always treat your fur friend like one of the family, which I guess is what makes a good vet, but what makes a great vet is compassion care and love for your fur friend which is given without question. I wouldn't let anyone else be my pets primary care giver because once the standards bar is set so high its hard to find another with the same commitment, with tern vets its not simply about the money the love and care understanding of your and your pets needs is and has always come first." - Simon, Tern client.
