Objective of role
Do you have experience in leasehold management and procurement of building maintenance and service contracts within a local authority environment?
If yes, you should apply your knowledge in a supportive environment working with a small team of experienced officers, procuring contracts and consulting leaseholders on major building works.
About the role
You will be the council's lead expert on leasehold matters, providing advice and guidance. You will manage a team responsible for consulting leaseholders on planned works, providing pre-sale information, lease extensions, alterations, lease variations, and sale of housing land.
You will also oversee the extension and re-procurement of grounds maintenance, cleaning, and mechanical and electrical maintenance contracts on council estates and blocks.
You will resolve contract management issues that could lead to contract termination.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Detailed knowledge of leasehold management, including consultation legislation, land ownership interests, and leasehold service charges.
- Knowledge of local government procurement and the legal framework for works, services, and goods in a public authority setting.
- Experience managing a team of officers and administrative staff, drafting complex contract documents, reports, and problem-solving.
