We’re looking for an experienced professional to join our Clinical Practice team within the School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key contributor to a vibrant, forward-thinking team committed to delivering excellence in post-registration education.
We’re seeking a Lecturer with up-to-date expertise in clinical practice and emergency/urgent care, backed by hands-on experience as a practitioner. If you’re passionate about sharing your knowledge and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals, we’d love to hear from you.
Essential
Our programmes’ curriculum is focused on preparing practitioners to develop their role or innovate their practice. We believe in collaborative learning, partnering with students, academics, researchers, service users, and healthcare colleagues to deliver high quality learning and teaching based on contemporary research findings and clinical practice. To be successful in this role you should have:
- Registration with the NMC or HCPC
- A relevant degree in a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession
- Hold a non-medical prescribing qualification and completion of a level 7 physical assessment module or equivalent.
- Professional experience as a practitioner
- A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
- Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health including current clinical, professional, leadership and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach the subject
- Have knowledge/experience of HEE/NHSE Advanced Clinical Practice multi-professional competencies/frameworks
- Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning of physical assessment of adults and cardiac and respiratory assessment related skills and knowledge in university and/or practice setting
