An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist or healthcare professional with experience in teaching clinical skills in both clinical and simulated environments. The role involves contributing to the teaching and research portfolio of the Pharmacy Subject Group within the School of Applied Sciences, University of Brighton.
We seek an individual to work in our Pharmacy Subject Group to deliver and design clinical simulations for undergraduate student pharmacists. These simulations are a key part of our MPharm curriculum and aim to develop skills such as physical assessment, consultation, and prescribing. The candidate will contribute to designing assessments in clinical competence, such as OSCEs, and is encouraged to engage in clinical research, collaborating with the Centre for Lifelong Health and NHS colleagues.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Hold a degree in a health-related discipline (e.g., physiology, pharmacology, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, physiotherapy) or an equivalent qualification.
- Be a member of a relevant professional or regulatory body.
- Have experience delivering simulation teaching to healthcare students, particularly in physical assessment in academic or clinical settings.
We seek someone who can inspire future pharmacy graduates using innovative, research-informed approaches to clinical teaching, fostering inquisitive thinkers capable of effective decision-making.
Our team provides clinical teaching for undergraduate students on our patient-centered, case-based MPharm degree. We also offer postgraduate courses, including the Postgraduate Diploma/MSc Pharmacy (Overseas Pharmacists’ Assessment Programme – OSPAP). The Pharmacy team leads interprofessional teaching with Brighton and Sussex Medical School and maintains strong research and teaching links with NHS Trusts.
