Job Description:
Job Purpose
To deliver an excellent student experience through teaching and assessment; to undertake research and scholarship in a priority area within electrical and electronics engineering; to contribute to management and administration; to play a leadership role in your areas of academic and professional expertise. The teaching responsibilities will be delivered from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) campuses and will require living and working overseas in Chengdu and/or Lingshui Li’an, China, for at least one teaching semester per year (typically 18 - 20 weeks).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, lead and sustain research aligned with teaching and the School/College/University.
- Contribute to planning, organization, and delivery of high-quality teaching, supervision, and assessment activities.
- Enhance research profile through publications, conference presentations, securing funding, and collaborations.
- Contribute to curriculum development ensuring a research-led approach.
- Manage academic administrative activities, including feedback and pastoral support.
- Engage in personal and professional development.
- Contribute to the University's international profile in line with its Strategic Plan.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in a related discipline with a growing reputation for scholarship.
- Developing national/international reputation in the field.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or commitment to achieve professional status within two years.
Skills
- Ability to develop an international research profile.
- Research creativity and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience
- Research experience including postdoctoral work.

Further Information
Multiple positions are available. The teaching responsibilities will be delivered from UESTC campuses in China, requiring living and working overseas for at least one semester annually.
