As we continue to scale, we’re now looking for an experienced Legal Cashiering Manager to join our Finance team. This is a newly created role, reporting directly to our CFO and working closely with our CRO, COFA, and FC. You’ll take ownership of our Legal Cashiering function, managing a team of seven, and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules while driving process improvements across the department.
Location: Altrincham, WA14 5UW (full-time office based for initial 3 months, hybrid thereafter, 2 office, 3 WFH)

The role
As Legal Cashiering Manager, you’ll:
- Lead and manage a team of Legal Cashiers, carrying out 1:1s, appraisals and training.
- Oversee day-to-day workflows, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, Cyber Security and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily bank reconciliations.
- Support the reconciliation and closure of all client balances.
- Review, document and improve cashiering processes and procedures.
- Monitor compliance, escalating issues where necessary.
- Assist the COFA with audits, reporting, and any regulatory requirements.
- Work on projects such as MI reporting improvements, system enhancements, and supporting offshore resource as the business grows.
This role is a 50/50 mix of hands-on cashiering and team leadership, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both operational work and developing people.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 3 years’ experience managing a Legal Cashiering function.
- Experience in the legal sector is essential – experience in conveyancing specifically is highly desirable.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, with exposure to SRA audits.
- Is adaptable in their leadership style, able to coach and support both junior and experienced team members.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, friendly, and collaborative environment.
- Has a continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to suggest and implement new processes.
- Experience with Proclaim is highly advantageous but not essential.
- A newly created leadership role with the scope to make a real impact.
- Direct exposure to senior leadership, working closely with the CFO, CRO, COFA and FC.

- Competitive salary of £42,000 – £55,000 DOE plus benefits.
