The Role

As a Legal Counsel specialising in Employment you will provide legal advice and counsel to the QinetiQ Group, covering all aspects of industrial relations and employment law, related litigation and mediation issues, regulatory compliance and broader legal subjects relating to employment issues.

Day‑to‑day you’ll report into the Group Head of Employment Law and collaborate as needed with the People Function, Sector Operations, our in‑house Legal & IP Team and our global network of external legal counsel.

Your Responsibilities

  • Working on diverse and complex litigation cases at tribunal as well as advising and supporting disciplinaries and grievances
  • Applying your UK employment knowledge across multiple jurisdictions in partnership with international partners
  • Actively supporting the mergers, acquisitions and sales departments
  • Identifying and supporting development of new policy & process improvements, training needs for the People Function, and advising on new employment‑related legislation that may affect the business
  • Maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and functional colleagues, and promoting the value of the group’s Legal, IP and Company Secretarial team

Essential Experience

  • A well‑developed grounding in all aspects of employment law, with sound legal judgment and understanding of the employment regulatory environment
  • Experience working in a law firm or in‑house legal team

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified employment lawyer with 2‑3 years post‑qualification within employment law

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
