Overview

SMALL legal team within Samsung’s fast‑growing European Services Business Office (ESBO). Provide legal services across media law: channel & content licensing, app distribution, ad‑tech, gaming, etc. Protect business from risk while fueling growth.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (channel & content licences, app distribution agreements, marketing agreements, media sales agreements, supply‑side platform and agency trading agreements).
• Provide advice on legal and regulatory risk, especially in streaming, advertising, and app‑distribution spaces.
• Collaborate on pan‑EU contracts for procurement and key projects; advise on EU and local laws relevant to ESBO.
• Create and implement regulatory solutions with the senior regulatory lawyer where new rules are required.
• Maintain knowledge of data‑protection law; work with privacy colleagues to ensure compliance.
• Partner across the EO Legal teams (commercial, competition, consumer, data‑protection) and business units (sales, finance, tax, BizOps, business development).
• Develop and maintain effective contract processes and systems (playbooks, FAQs, guides).
• Liaise with external law firms and specialists; instruct when needed.
• Represent Samsung in external meetings with counter‑parties and regulators.
• Actively contribute to development and knowledge sharing with lawyers and paralegals across ESBO and Europe.
• Support the team’s reputation as a responsive, ambitious, trusted, commercially‑minded function.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in the UK or a comparable jurisdiction.
• 1‑3 years PQE (all relevant experience encouraged).
• Experience managing a wide variety of commercial transactions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, research and issue‑spotting skills.
• Excellent prioritisation skills and risk‑based decision making.
• Business‑partner mindset; problem‑solving; enable ESBO to achieve growth targets.
• Ability to influence and guide stakeholders at all levels (clear, concise communication).
• Familiarity with GDPR; regulatory experience highly desirable.
• Preferable experience in content licensing, advertising, media, or reputable law firm.

Success Metrics

• Develop robust knowledge of ESBO business and the media sector.
• Engage and build relationships with all key stakeholders in the first year.
• Provide first‑class legal advice from day 1 supporting commercial and regulatory analysis.
• Streamline processes, draft templates, report team successes.
• Act as a true business partner, helping ESBO meet its targets and celebrate wins.
