What sort of work?
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal/Legal Executive to join our Transactional Real Estate team in either our Bristol or Exeter office. In this role you will support the New Homes team in delivering a first‑class service to clients. This will include:
- Managing your own plot sale matters and files from reservation of the plot to completion of the sale, including preparation of contract packs, completion statements, remittance advice, invoices and engrossing of deeds. Typing your own correspondence and documentation throughout.
- Providing efficient and effective support, aiming to meet all targets set by clients in respect of exchange and completion deadlines.
- Operating the case management system and all other forms of reporting to the clients, ensuring that all information relating to the plot is kept updated.
- Ensuring deposits and completion monies are remitted to clients in the correct manner, when required.
- Attending meetings with clients where necessary and updating clients on all active matters whenever required by any method the client requires.
- Maintaining effective communication with colleagues across the Firm, as required.
- Maintaining time recording on client matters on a daily basis in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
- Managing files diligently and reviewing each regularly.
- Complying with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and/or information.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for somebody who will understand our values and thrive in our culture. The role will be based in our Bristol or Exeter office and the ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience of working within plot sales.
- Experience of using a case management system.
- The ability to run own files with minimal supervision.
- Experience of working in a process‑driven environment and working to deadlines, providing excellent client service to both external and internal clients.
- Excellent organisational skills, demonstrable examples of multi‑tasking and an ability to juggle competing priorities and work well under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Other skills required include:
- Excellent interpersonal skills; effective communication at all levels (written and verbal).
- A commercial, pro‑active ‘can do’ and professional approach to work.
- Must be flexible, successfully adapting to changing demands and conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must interact well with others in a sensitive and effective way – a team player.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and use of discretion.
- Must be self‑motivated, committed to working towards goals with strong enthusiasm and career commitment.
- Self‑confidence, initiative, and innovative thinking.
