Your Role
You will lead and manage your team to provide legal advice and support to Stratford‑on‑Avon District Council and Warwick District Council. Using your people‑management experience, you will coach your team, build a positive team culture, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage services to ensure high‑quality delivery of legal services across the districts.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Overall day‑to‑day management of 7 lawyers.
- Manage the effective delivery of the council’s legal services within your team area.
- Manage and deliver a personal caseload of legal matters, including complex and/or sensitive cases.
- Take responsibility for the performance of the services within your team, providing leadership, championing a ‘can‑do’ approach, flexibility, team working and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need
- Significant experience in at least one of the legal areas covered by the relevant team (commercial, residential or development).
- Leadership, people‑management or supervisory skills, or evidence of a commitment to developing these skills.
- A basic understanding of administrative and corporate law concepts as they relate to local government.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
