We are currently looking for a Lending Operations Manager working as part of the Lending Operations team. The main purpose of the Lending Operations Team is to ensure the effective management of the loan disbursement process from approval, pre-completion, and post-completion checks, working closely with third parties and internally to deliver best in class client and broker experience. This role is additionally focused on supporting the process by assisting with Quality Assurance of the drawdown process and checks and providing in-life servicing of the loan book.

Please note this is predominantly an office-based position in either Manchester or London that requires you to be in the Office a minimum of 2 days a week, with occasional travel to the other office depending on base location.

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • Delivering an outstanding client, broker, and colleague experience by working closely with third-party professional advisors and internally with the Lending Directors/Managers and underwriting to provide effective loan disbursements.
  • Responsible for independent pre-drawdown and post-drawdown checks with approval from the Head of Lending Operations, effectively managing third-party relationships to meet the banks objectives.
  • The instruction of the bank-appointed solicitor and valuation firms.
  • Support the Head of Lending Operations by working collaboratively, with a focus on the continuous improvement of the lending journey, including proposing solutions and leveraging initiatives such as AI where appropriate.
  • Support the Head of Lending Operations with reviews of 3rd parties that support lending such as Brokers, Valuers and Solicitors.
  • Maintain key data points within the lending journey on bank systems to provide effective MI and co-ordinating new lending transactions supporting the front-line lending team to provide a seamless lending journey for our clients.
  • Work with Quality Assurance team members providing the first line of defence overview and quality assurance of client onboarding, including CDD/AML checks with regular sampling.
  • Dealing with in-life events, including arrears management and client requests such as statement requests, security releases, Direct Debit amendments, redemptions, and ad hoc repayments.
  • Providing training and support to colleagues new to the Lending Operations team.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in a business SME and/or Mortgage lending operations environment [Essential]
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft skills – PowerPoint/ Excel & Word
  • Knowledge of Salesforce/nCino [Desirable]
