Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lending Operations Manager to lead and optimise our lending operations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient loan processing, maintaining operational compliance, and delivering an exceptional client experience. This is an exciting opportunity to influence processes and systems at a rapidly growing challenger bank.

Location

Milton Keynes — 3 days a week hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lending operations process, including loan application assessment, approval workflows, and disbursement.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies across all lending activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the credit, risk, and technology teams to streamline processes and improve automation.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing lending operations team.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and operations, providing insights and recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Support the implementation of new lending products and digital platforms.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in lending operations, preferably within SME or commercial banking.
  • Strong understanding of lending processes, credit risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with digital banking platforms and process automation is a plus.
