Overview

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Locum Employment Solicitor to support a local authority based in Manchester. This role is on a 3 months contract with potential to extend.

This role pays a competitive rate:

• PAYE (Inc. Hol) - £48.41 - £52.76 per hour
• Umbrella - £55 - £60 per hour

Responsibilities

• Advising on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law
• Drafting contracts, policies, and settlement agreements
• Handling Employment Tribunal claims, including case preparation and advocacy
• Advising on TUPE, redundancies, disciplinary procedures, and grievance matters
• Supporting HR teams, senior managers, and external clients as required

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with valid practising certificate
• Proven experience in employment law (private practice or public sector)
• Confident handling own caseload independently
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Tribunal advocacy experience is advantageous
