Locum Optometrist - Newcastle Upon Tyne role at OutsideClinic. Days: 3-5 days per week (no weekends).

Job Details

• Location: Newcastle and surrounding areas
• Days: 3-5 days per week (No weekends)
• Rate: Daily rate + Commission
• Employment type: Full-time
• Seniority level: Entry level

Responsibilities

• Help around 6-7 patients every day, visiting them in their own homes. Appointments are longer (1 hour) to allow time for relationship-building and gold-standard care.
• Be trusted to make autonomous decisions and be supported by a senior optometrist team at head office when needed.
• Use the latest equipment, including a mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer, and a digital records system (no paperwork).

Location & Travel

• Each day you’ll see a cluster of 6–7 patients within the same local area.
• Travel can be up to 50 miles from your home postcode, but this won’t be every day. Some days may be 5 miles away; others 30–40 miles. Once in the area for the day, travel between patients is short as they’re clustered in the same postcode region.

Equipment & Training

• Locum Optometrists are provided with a full equipment kit and comprehensive training before working independently.
