We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Band 6 Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our multidisciplinary lung cancer team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to patients diagnosed with or being investigated for lung cancer.
As a Lung Cancer CNS, you will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their cancer journey from initial referral and diagnosis through to treatment, follow‑up, and palliative care where appropriate. You will work closely with the lung cancer MDT, including respiratory consultants, oncologists, radiologists, specialist nurses, allied health professionals, and palliative care teams. You will also contribute to service development, patient education, and clinical audits to support continuous improvement in cancer care.

- Support the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team by participating in MDT meetings, contributing clinical knowledge to support decision‑making and care planning.
- Coordinate Investigations and Treatments, ensuring patients move through the cancer pathway efficiently and with minimal delays, in line with national cancer targets.
- Offer Psychological Support and signposting to appropriate services.
- Liaise with Other Health and Social Care Professionals, including oncologists, respiratory consultants, palliative care, and primary care teams to ensure seamless care across all settings.
- Contribute to Service Improvement, audits, patient feedback collection, and quality initiatives to enhance the patient experience and outcomes.
