What you’ll do

  • Prepare accurate and timely UK management accounts each month, ensuring all financial data is thoroughly reviewed and reconciled within strict deadlines.
  • Conduct detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyse month-end variances by reviewing monthly reports, providing insightful commentary to internal stakeholders to aid business decision-making.
  • Consolidate intercompany accounts across multiple international subsidiaries, ensuring all balances are agreed and accurately reflected in consolidated group accounts.
  • Produce comprehensive consolidated accounts for the group, preparing detailed monthly reporting packs for senior management review.
  • Lead the year-end audit process for both UK and group entities, acting as the primary point of contact for management account queries from auditors.
  • Review manual credit notes and invoices to ensure compliance with company policies and accuracy in financial records.
  • Monitor cash forecasts and sales reports on a regular basis, providing up-to-date financial information to internal departments as required.
  • Support both UK-based and overseas finance teams by sharing knowledge, assisting with queries, and providing cover during periods of absence such as sickness or holiday.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as directed by senior management, contributing expertise to drive process improvements across the finance function.

What you bring

  • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA status is essential, demonstrating your commitment to professional development within accountancy.
  • Proven experience preparing management accounts within a commercial environment is required for success in this position.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel—is necessary for handling complex data sets and producing high-quality reports.
  • Experience working within an international finance environment is highly desirable, enabling you to navigate cross-border accounting requirements effectively.
  • Exceptional organisational skills are vital for managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels across different departments and locations.
