The Acquisition & Customer Marketing (ACM) team within the International Card Services (ICS) Centre of Excellence (CoE) drives market success across a portfolio of 23 international markets. The way we acquire, onboard, and grow engagement with our prospects across ICS is more important than ever to continue to enable the strong trajectory of ICS and growth contribution to American Express.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This role is an exciting opportunity at the International ACM organization to revolutionize the company’s future by attracting and acquiring new card members. ACM creates and collectively delivers the next horizon growth strategy, powered by investments, capabilities and marketing solutions that are customer centric, innovative and scalable.
Reporting to the Director, Demand Generation, this critical role will focus on shaping and driving delivery of the offer capability roadmap across ICS markets. Acquisition offer capability is a key strategic area requiring collaboration across the enterprise to reduce offer setup complexity and operational risk, whilst enabling high-impact innovation and robust performance tracking. Leading a data-driven business agenda and galvanising partners – including markets and large group of technologies, product and control management teams – will be essential for the success of this role.
Key responsibilities
- Providing business leadership for the international offer capability build roadmap and related projects
- Defining and driving an ambitious yet pragmatic vision of requirements in close partnership with the broader Centre of Excellence team, product and technology, finance, analytics, control management and market partners
- Providing central point of business oversight and connectivity for the multiple capabilities involved in end-to-end offer lifecycle (from the initial setup stages to publishing to fulfilment), establishing partnership with workgroups engaged in uplifting the respective E2E ecosystem and ensuring aligned way forward and clarity of vision from Demand generation team perspective
- Project managing business-owned deliverables in relation to capability builds and market rollout roadmaps, including development of business requirements, market alignments and rollout of marketer education and training
- Sourcing and analysing multi-dimensional offer data to drive strategic and tactical decisions, maximise effectiveness of marketer tooling, and enable ongoing optimisation (data analysis for business cases, OREs assessment, and training requirements for offer processes)
- Delivering stakeholder documentation for visibility of project status and decision facilitation, and preparing for/leading respective meetings
- Partnering with capability project teams and International Card Services markets to roll out acquisition offer-related operational processes and guidelines to drive operational robustness and reduce marketer friction
- Partnering with other International Card Services and enterprise teams to progress the wider control management agenda with a focus on acquisition offers, including process and capability enhancements and ORE root cause analysis
Minimum qualifications
- Strong understanding of capabilities that enable card acquisition (offer) marketing or strong transferable experience in wider capability or marketing platforms space and track record of delivering capability build/enhancement projects
- Proven ability to project manage complex projects, meeting deadlines and outcomes while ensuring strong control management and robust documentation
- Analytical thinking and ability to derive meaningful conclusions from large volumes of quantitative and qualitative data
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse markets, technical partners and senior audiences, and to galvanise teams
- Thrives in complex and rapidly changing environments with enthusiasm, resilience and clarity
- Self-starter with proactive initiative and autonomy to drive projects forward
- Effective stakeholder management and collaborative approach in a multi-cultural environment
