Manager (Economist ) - upto £80,000 (depending on experience) - London, United Kingdom (hybrid)

We’re working with a specialist consultancy operating in one of the most dynamic and high-tech industries, providing economic intelligence, market analysis, and strategic advice to clients across commercial and institutional sectors. Founded in 2019 by two experienced economists, the firm has grown into a team of 11 experts with offices in London and Edinburgh.

They are now seeking a Manager to join the senior team, taking a lead role in delivering complex projects while supporting the growth of the business. While experience in this sector is an advantage, they are most interested in individuals with a proven consulting background and the drive to develop deep expertise in this field.

Role

As a Manager, you’ll oversee multiple projects, leading research design, execution, and delivery. You will manage teams of economists and analysts, providing mentoring and line management support while maintaining high standards across deliverables. The role involves cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments, and economic modelling, with direct engagement with senior-level clients across industry and government.

You’ll also work closely with the firm’s founders to contribute to business development efforts, including bid writing and helping to shape the company’s long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex consulting projects, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Oversee analytical design, ensuring robust methodologies for modelling, forecasting, and impact assessment
• Manage and mentor junior consultants, fostering capability development across the team
• Develop strong relationships with clients, presenting findings and actionable recommendations
• Contribute to business development, including preparing bids and proposals
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support the firm’s growth and strategic direction

Key Skills

• Significant consulting experience within an economics, strategy, or analytical advisory environment
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering multi-stream projects on time and to a high standard
• Proficiency in economic and financial modelling, cost-benefit analysis, and impact assessments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex insights for diverse audiences
• Experience in bid writing and supporting client acquisition
• Team leadership and mentoring capability, with a collaborative approach
• Salary up to £70,000 plus hybrid working
• Occasional domestic and international travel for client engagement
