OverviewThe role sits in a large back-office transformation programme at Pacific Life Re. The transformation team is cross-functional across Operations, Finance and Corporate Actuarial, responsible for driving and overseeing all back office-related change and transformation activity. Corporate Actuarial model developments are at the heart of the programme and underpin its success.We are seeking a highly skilled actuarial Model Release and Test Manager to lead the coordination of testing of our actuarial model developments over the next 12 months, delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for planning, communicating and monitoring all aspects of model releases and testing.ResponsibilitiesTest ManagementImplementation of the test strategy and approach in line with PL Re overarching testing approachDefining detailed testing scope and test execution plans for all project test phasesDeveloping test scenarios, test scripts, test data sets and testing guidelines aligned to the requirements traceability frameworkSet up and maintenance of all test activities using JIRA, ensuring a detailed audit trail to support project approval and closeAdopting a best practice approach to testing and quality assurance for the projectEnsuring the scope of testing covers material system requirements and areas of key risk (functional, non-functional, performance, etc.)Providing regular status reporting and closure reports for each test phaseFacilitating training and readiness activities for all testers ahead of each project test phaseProject DeliveryEstablishing and running regular project testing meetings, including defect triageProviding project management support with periodic reports detailing testing and defect metricsProposing testing phases and resource requirements and communicating these with key stakeholdersEnsuring timely completion of project milestones and escalating bottlenecks as appropriateProviding guidance on testing issues to enable the project manager to manage corrective actionsManaging and resolving testing queries arising throughout the project lifecycleStakeholder ManagementLeading and coordinating testing with global Finance and Actuarial teams and system owners & support teamsPartnering and coordinating multiple testing teams across PL Re business units and third partiesAligning with Pacific Life testing activitiesMaintaining effective networks and clear communication across PL Re to ensure efficient deliveryEssential ExperienceExcellent understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the role of testing within it7+ years experience with testing through the full project lifecycle, including unit, integration and regression testing, and dry/parallel runs and their focusesKnowledge of all aspects of testing from requirements to test cases to defect managementExperience delivering testing for financial reporting change programs across multiple territories in a virtual environmentUnderstanding of non-functional testing (security, performance)Experience with robust and transparent defect management and resolutionUnderstanding the role of data in testingKnowledge of testing methodologies used in Waterfall and AgileExperience identifying and leveraging reusable test cases across phasesExperience with multiple software testing toolsAbility to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirementsAbility to build relationships at all levels across the projectDesirable ExperienceExperience in the (re)insurance industry is beneficialWorking For Pacific Life ReWe value the unique qualities each person brings to the business and support individual ambitions.
