Overview

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Gerrards Cross working on the Thames Water framework. Location: Gerrards Cross, mixture of home and office working along with occasional travel to various sites in the Thames Valley region. Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring timely and monthly cost value reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, monthly and quarterly forecasts are produced
  • Prepare project budgets, develop cost plans and estimate the quantities and costs of materials, time and labour required for the projects
  • Understand and implement the contractual obligations
  • Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and helping select contractors and subcontractors. Ensure that procurement follows Thames Water policies and procedures
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients, contractors and other relevant parties. Ensure that terms are favourable, equitable and aligned with the project's objectives and constraints
  • Experience in standard forms of contracts and cost control processes, with a view to be able to comment, review and draft documents
  • Good understanding of construction law and project management practices
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and standard office applications
  • Experience coordinating and managing a team

Qualifications

  • Degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of the IChemE Burgundy Book and experience in water/ wastewater projects

Experience and Skills

  • Excellent numeracy and financial management skills
