BASE PAY RANGE: This role would best suit someone with a solid 5+ years of B2B Sales and Account Management experience and fluent MANDARIN. The role involves working with influential families to navigate the University education application processes for top universities globally. You will manage the business operationally with autonomy to steer the organisation and help it scale, including networking, partnerships, and negotiations. This is a Business Development role with a difference.

TITLE: Mandarin speaking Head of Sales & Operations

LOCATION : Singapore or Hong Kong or UAE or the UK

WORK STYLE: Hybrid (part office based and part work-from-home)

DIRECT REPORTS 1 person initially

SALARY : £120,000 per annum (comprised of base up to £40k + uplift of additional £80k per annum)

THE COMPANY : You will be overseeing all operational aspects of this educational consultancy as well as managing the growing team. The company provides post-secondary preparation and admissions guidance to students aiming to enter the most competitive universities in the world. Core services are advisory, mentoring, and academic planning for students and their families.

THE ROLE: 1) Manage the company’s commercial growth, 2) Oversee global service delivery to enable business growth.

DUTIES

In this role you will work very independently and will be trusted to manage and grow the business operationally whilst ensuring that clients are provided with outstanding client care. Clients tend to be high-net-worth families helping their children navigate university applications. You will develop warm and trusting relationships with these families and guide students through complex university admissions processes. This role is a key appointment for the business.

Business Development & Account Management (Business Development is 60% of the role)

  • Network at the highest levels to create a commercial pipeline
  • Introduce the service and liaise with private schools across the USA, HK, the UK and Singapore
  • Provide advice on university application processes and preparation strategies
  • Negotiate partnership agreements with schools and colleges
  • Ask for referrals from satisfied clients

Operational work (25%)

  • Train and mentor new joiners and set delivery targets
  • Report on sales revenues against forecasts

Take on specialist tutors (10%)

  • Recruit specialist tutors, onboard them and track performance
  • Coordinate capacity planning with Education Manager

Quality Control (5%)

  • All dispute resolution

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree from top University
  • 5 years experience as Account Manager with consultative B2B sales
  • Proven experience closing high-value commercial deals
