Overview

Market Access and Data Exchange Specialist (UK Power market) role responsible for ensuring Ørsted’s compliance with market rules for power data exchange. You’ll be part of Global Revenue Services within Global Contract Settlements, acting as a super user for IT systems processing these data, collaborating with IT colleagues and vendors on changes to the system landscape, and ensuring data quality and effective communication to stakeholders. The team supports each other in a hybrid work setup.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Ørsted’s compliance with all metering and settlement data aspects of the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) and its subsidiary documents relevant for generators and trading parties
  • Ensure Ørsted’s compliance with National Grid ESO Grid Code obligations for the trading party
  • Participate in relevant industry events to stay updated with upcoming market rule changes
  • Represent Ørsted in Elexon workgroups, BSC Panel subgroups, and other industry change processes (e.g., Ofgem consultations, NGESO forums)
  • Ensure data availability and high data quality standards for settlement, forecasting and analysis purposes
  • Coordinate with Meter Operator Agents (MOAs) and Half-Hourly Data Collectors to ensure metering data is accurate and compliant with BSC obligations
  • Investigate and resolve metering errors, data mismatches, or settlement disputes in coordination with Elexon or relevant agents

Qualifications

  • Ideally several years of experience in UK power markets, ideally within a generator or asset owner/operator context
  • Solid understanding of the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC), ideally from a generator/trading unit perspective
  • Familiarity with Elexon data processes for BSC Settlement, National Grid ESO interfaces, data flows, and Grid Code obligations
  • Master’s degree in engineering, business, economics or similar
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Systematic working style, responsible, and capable of delivering high-quality results
